SO- I picked up the Feb 2011 edition of So-en／装苑 and they had an article about Christian Joy, the designer behind Karen O. from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. She's been designing for Karen 0. for the past couple of tours it seems (see link above.) I know we hadn't really come up with a next step, but what if we found an upcoming band/ musician to collaborate with? It might be hard to find someone who shares the same creative sense that we share, but I'm sure the opportunity is out there. Just thought I'd put the thought out there. Something we can think about once we're done with this first project--

3 Girls. 3 Walks of Life. Coming Together As One. 


In the contemporary world of fashion we live in today, style exists amid a coexistence of  individualism and prevailing taste. At the center of a truly cosmopolitan community, three girls of mixed backgrounds and different lifestyles come together as one to create a single collection, like separate streams of water converging into one river, reflecting a collaborative dialogue of where their worlds, stories, and emotions of being half overlap in today's society.


Naomi Sundberg (21, half American half Japanese), Minami Kinjo (21, half New Zealand half Japanese), and Frankie Cihi (22, half American half Japanese) all attended international schools in Tokyo, Japan, and are now studying and working as artists of different genres. In essense, Elevany is a meeting point between East and West, Fashion and Fine Art, Individualism and Collaboration. It is our goal to express and explore the depths of our own identities and let fashion act as a vehicle to carry out and unite our separated yet interlinked worlds.
